Game Ready UK’s Managing Director, Greg Pearce, first came into contact with Game Ready in 2007 while working as a Chartered Physiotherapist with the Metropolitan Police. “Like so many other clinicians, I was at first quite skeptical of another cold therapy device, especially one that claimed to let you control both temperature and compression simultaneously. There are so many products on the market that claim to do so many things, but as soon as I put it on myself and subsequently used it on patients, the results spoke for themselves. It really does what it says it does on the box”.
Game Ready was founded in the United States and was built upon the concept that the principles behind the spacesuit technology could be used to develop an injury treatment system. As a designer for NASA and an inductee into the U.S. Space Foundation’s Hall of Fame, Game Ready’s founder helped pioneer the technology involved in controlling pressure and temperature within a flexible garment. In 1998, work began with athletes, physiotherapists, doctors, trainers and engineers to expand breakthrough discoveries into the realm of sports medicine. The positive feedback to the prototypes was so overwhelming that many top US athletes regarded the system so highly they became part owners of the parent company.
